Welcome to our climate hub!

At Gall & Gall, we want everyone to enjoy a drink, but in a responsible way. With respect for people and nature. We take responsibility and take action to improve our impact on people & the environment. To limit global warming to maximum 1,5C, Gall & Gall has the ambition to reduce their supply chain greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030 compared to 2018. This is in line with the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi). The food industry is responsible for a significant share of global greenhouse gases. This is a big challenge and at the same time it offers an opportunity to continuously improve and work together to reduce the climate impact of our food system. We can only achieve this together. Together with all colleagues and franchisees, together with farmers, growers, governments, but especially with you as our supplier.

Since November 2022, Gall & Gall has been engaging all private label and A-brand suppliers to commit to SBTi and to annually report on their scope 1-2-3 emissions. Many suppliers are already participating in this journey. In this way we gather the necessary insight in our supply chains’ emissions, which enables us to implement and accelerate emission reduction initiatives.
Gall & Gall expect the following from you, just like all our private label and A-brand suppliers:

1.   No later than 18 September 2024: Submission of fully completed 2023 climate reporting via the reporting platform applicable to your organisation. We explain details under 'Climate Reporting'.
2.   By 30 June 2025: Validated climate targets in line with 1.5C scenario, validated by SBTi or equivalent. Only for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) there is SBTi's "SME-streamlined route". We explain details under 'Climate Targetsetting'

Our ambitions are in line with legal developments, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), in which transparency about and reduction of climate impact is an integral part. We would like to thank our suppliers for their cooperation in this regard.

A necessary condition to comply with these requests is to perform a baseline measurement of your organization's carbon footprint. You can find more information about this under 'Carbon Footprinting'

About the Climate Hub

On this Climate Hub you will find an explanation of our purpose and advice and tools to use to comply with our request. We hope to help you on your way to achieving your climate ambitions together. The Climate Hub is divided into four pages:

  1. Carbon Footprinting – here you will find everything you need to know about calculating your carbon footprint. On the basis of video tutorials, advice and proposed concrete actions, we provide you with knowledge to carry out the baseline measurement yourself.
  2. Climate Targetsetting – here you will find an explanation of how to set climate targets according to SBTi. The SBTi guidelines differ for SMEs and larger (non-SME) suppliers. For non-SME suppliers active in agricultural chains, the sector-specific Forest Land and Agriculture (FLAG) guidance may also apply.
  3. Climate Reporting – here you will find an explanation of the annual reporting process, which runs through ImpactBuying or CDP.
  4. Decarbonization – here you will find the steps to initiate greenhouse gas reduction.
  5. Documents - related to Decarbonisation
